Chicago...My Kind of Town

Well, the tour has begun.  At 10:02 a.m, our coach bus left the beautiful Saint Mary's campus for the Chicago metropolitan area.  The drive across Wisconsin and Northern Illinois went very smoothly.  We stopped for a lunch break, just west of Madison.

This evening, the Chamber Singers were the guest choir at Holy Name Cathedral in downtown Chicago.  We ran into some snowy weather and heavy traffic.   The bus was slow to move through the downtown streets, so the Chamber Singers needed to warm up on the bus.  The bus arrived just in time and the 5:15 Mass was wonderful.  We were joined by some alumni and parents.  Thank you to Michael Fye, Melissa Fye, Roy and Lucy Fisher, Ken and Mary Sichz, Katie Sichz, The Uhals, Bill McHugh and Bro. Frank Carr.  It was fabulous to see all of you there.  Now a couple of pics from Mass at Holy Name Cathedral.  What a beautiful cathedral.

Tomorrow, we will have some time in downtown Chicago and then it is airport time!  Thanks for checking out the blog and for following along on our travels.

  2. It was great to see a number of SMU alumni at Holy Name Cathedral! I'm really glad we were able to do this before our departure.
